On skin, not in canal

You'll forget they're on.

StéBuds rest on the skin behind your ear and send sound through bone. Nothing goes in, so nothing has to come out, and the canal stays open all day.

The problem

You've tried every size. The problem was never fit.

Your ear canal is not a socket. It is a passage your body works to keep open, and it treats anything pushed into it as something to expel. A softer tip does not change that. It only delays it.

1 in 5

have had ear canal inflammation.

1.2 cm

pushed into a 0.7 cm canal. Not your fault. Physics.
How it holds

Skin, not canal

Anatomy

Audio that disappears into the day.

Six things your body never has to manage.

01

Zero canal pressure

Bone-conductive driver. No canal seal.
Nothing enters the ear. Nothing to push back against.

02

Continuous wear

Held by hydrogel adhesion, not by pressure.
Nothing to re-seat. Nothing to adjust.

03

Open awareness

Bone conduction through skin contact.
Hear your music. Hear your kid. Hear the kettle. All at once.

04

Medical-grade adhesion

The same class of hydrogel used in continuous-wear medical devices.
Made for skin, not for the ear canal.

05

Made for movement

Adhesion, not friction, so movement does not loosen it.
Built to meet IPX7 water-resistance standards.

06

Audio that earns its place

Sound travels through bone, not through the air around you.
Bone-conductive clarity. No seal needed.
The shift

Two logics. Two outcomes for your ear.

One holds by pushing outward. The other holds by sticking to skin.

STÉBUDS

TRADITIONAL

How it stays on

On skin (hydrogel adhesion)

Inside the canal (friction and pressure)

Where the sound travels

Bone-conducted

Air pressure against the eardrum

Body response over time

Accepts it (zero adjustment)

Resists it (needs removal breaks)

A note from the founders

"Audio wasn't built for the body. It was built to fight it."

By hour three it was always the same. Pressure, then the ache, then the sound going thin as sweat broke the seal.

Out. Back in. Out again an hour later.

It took Serge a long time to notice that none of this was normal. It was just common.

He tried bone conduction next. The hooks pressed on his skull, slid when he moved, and came off by evening anyway.

Same problem. Different shape.

Every product in the category is built to clamp onto a head. So we stopped designing for the head, and started asking what skin would accept.

Answering that took longer than building the obvious version would have. We think it was the right trade.

For a long time this has been something we could only describe. Soon it is something we can put in your hands, and we have been waiting for that longer than you have.

This list is how you hear it first.

What you get

A day with nothing
in your ears

Hear your music. Hear your world. Never choose again.

Putting them on

Hydrogel meets skin behind the ear. No twisting into place, no seal, no hunting for the angle that stops hurting.

Someone says your name

You hear it the first time. The canal never closed, so the room was never gone.

Moving

Adhesion holds where friction slips. Nothing works its way loose and nothing needs pushing back in.

FAQs

Before you leave your email.

Everything about the product itself is on the main site.

What exactly am I signing up for?

An email address on a list. No payment, no card, no commitment. When the first run is confirmed you get the date and the price before the site does, and you can reserve before the store opens.

Rarely. A real update every few weeks while there is something to report, and nothing when there isn’t. If you want out, every email has an unsubscribe link that works on the first click.

It matters. The run is small enough that the list will not all fit, and it is served in the order people joined. The exact number lands when the factory confirms it.

That is the reputation the category earned. Most bone conduction headphones clamp a rigid band against your skull, which costs them low end and leaks sound to whoever is standing next to you. StéBuds sit flat on the skin behind the ear, held by hydrogel, so the contact is broader and steadier without the clamping force. Measurements go on this page before the first unit ships.

It is used to tell you about StéBuds. The full detail is in the privacy notice, linked at the bottom of this page.
